I received this ink as part of the May 2014 Ink Drop and it has languished on my shelf since then. It's not really the most masculine of ink colours and wouldn't be my first choice for hand written intra-office correspondence. Valentine's day is the perfect opportunity to break this one out so let's see how it performs.
Where To Buy (No Affiliate Links)
Shading: This ink does not have any significant shading properties.
Bleed Through: This ink performs better than most inks. Very light bleed through using the wettest nibs on Field Notes and Copy paper is almost unscathed.
Show Through: Absorbant papers will exhibit light show through.
Saturation: Highly saturated
Water Resistance: Some water resistance. Performance on Copy paper is better than Rhodia.
Drying Time: Fairly quick, 10-15 seconds using an EF nib on Rhodia.
Flow: Excellent flow, no performance concerns here.
Colour Make Up
As can be seen above, this ink is made up of magenta die and nothing else.

What can I say, this ink performs flawlessly, it dries quickly and behaves well on most papers. There is the slightest bit of feathering on Field Notes when wet nibs are used but that is a pretty small niggle. Having said all of that, no I will not be buying a bottle because I can't think of how I'll even finish the 4 ml sample that I have on hand, the colour is simply too limiting in day to day use. If hot pink is your colour then this is the ink for you, otherwise a sample will likely give you more ink than you need.
