An overview of the inks within this review series is available here. SUPER5 iNK Darmstadt, like Atlantic, is a well lubricated ink. There is something about having the nib glide across the paper which makes the ink feel premium.
Where To Buy (No Affiliate Links)
Shading: This ink has no shading, just a solid black.
Bleed Through: Copy paper shows spot bleeding for all nib sizes. Field Notes shows the most minor of spot bleeding for the broad nib only. Rhodia fairs quite well.
Show Through: Depending on the preference of the writer, the back side of Copy paper would likely be considered questionable for use but Field Notes and Rhodia are perfectly usable.
Saturation: Highly saturated, no change in colour.
Sheen: None, in fact it is quite matte.
Water Resistance: 100% waterproof.
Drying Time: A little quicker than average dry time, 15 seconds using an EF nib on Rhodia.
Flow: Average flow while writing but the nib tends to dry out quickly when you pause to think. Higher than average lubrication.
Cleaning: Yet to be determined. Will update.
Colour Make Up
Like it says on the tin, a pigmented black ink.
My two favourite black inks are shown below with Darmstadt. Even though Sailor Kiwa-Guro is considered a permanent ink, it isn't as waterproof as Darmstadt.
This is a really good black ink. While not as dark as the two similar inks shown above, it makes up for this by being extremely waterproof. I've already committed to the "blacks component" of my stash but if I hadn't, this would be a highly ranked contender. It is roughly the same price as the Kiwa-Guro and only a little more expensive than the Aurora on a per millilitre basis.

I reached out to Goulet Pens and asked if they would be willing to supply samples of the complete line of the SUPER5 iNKs. I do not feel that my opinions of this ink have been affected by receiving the sample free of charge
