After receiving the Aurora Black from Pen Chalet in early April, I was thoroughly impressed and knew that I wanted to try Aurora Blue too. Like the black, this ink is a good performer.

Shading: While you wouldn't choose this ink for it's shading properties, it does have some subtle shading.
Bleed Through: Copy paper experiences spot bleeding but Field Notes and Rhodia fair quite well.
Show Through: Most people would consider the back side of Copy paper unsuitable for use. Field Notes and Rhodia are perfectly serviceable.
Saturation: Average saturation.
Water Resistance: This ink has almost no water resistance.
Drying Time: Exceptionally long, more than 40 seconds using an EF nib on Rhodia.
Flow: Average flow. Higher than average lubrication. The nib just glides along.
Colour Make Up
Just a lovely blue throughout the ink trace.
Here is Aurora Blue compared to several other popular everyday use blues.
I really like this ink. It isn't as fantastic as the black variant but it is a solid blue and would be a good candidate to fill that spot in anyone's ink collection. There is something to be said for a company that focuses their ink production on only two inks and makes sure that the inks do their job well.
