An overview of the inks within this review series is available here. SUPER5 iNK Australia presents itself as a very unique colour. If I had to describe it, the closest parallel I could draw is of it being a dusty version of Noodler's Black Swan in English Roses.

Shading: This ink has muted shading down to medium nibs, finer than that and the shading is much less pronounced.
Bleed Through: Copy paper shows spot bleeding for all nib sizes. Field Notes and Rhodia show no ill effects.
Show Through: Depending on the preference of the writer, the back side of Copy paper would likely be considered questionable for use but Field Notes and Rhodia are perfectly usable.
Saturation: Less than average saturation.
Sheen: None. The ink comes across as being very matte.
Water Resistance: 100% waterproof.
Drying Time: A little faster than average dry time, 15 seconds using an EF nib on Rhodia.
Flow: Average flow. Average lubrication.
Cleaning: Cleaning is easily achieved.
Colour Make Up
The ink trace is a uniform dusty rose.

Burgundy inks are some of my favourites and I am currently enjoying Noodler's Mandalay Maroon, one of the inks shown above as being a close match to SUPER5 iNK Australia; it's not. Australia simply doesn't have the sparkle of most burgundy inks. In this case the matte nature of the ink saps most of the life from the colour. If you had asked me at the outset of this review series to draw up a short list of the colours that I would be ordering more of, Australia would have headed up that list. Now that I have had a chance to live with the colour for a while, I think that I will take a pass.
Other Reviews For This Ink
I reached out to Goulet Pens and asked if they would be willing to supply samples of the complete line of the SUPER5 iNKs. I do not feel that my opinions of this ink have been affected by receiving the sample free of charge.
