A couple of nights ago I took my 2016 Hobonichi out of its cover and slipped in the 2017 planner. With this exercise came the copying over of all of the postal addresses that I had accumulated in the notes section of the planner.
The bulk of these addresses had been used during InCoWriMo 2016 and had annotations like 13/29 next to them to show where in the month's goal the letter or postcard had been sent out. I had been vacillating about whether I'd do InCoWriMo again in 2017 but with this list of recipients already built up, it takes some of the friction out of the writing process.
Last year I had decided to send out postcards as my InCoWriMo correspondence and I'll do that again this year. While I have a good supply of postcards on hand, a lot of them really aren't appropriate for InCoWriMo so I sparked up my copy of Pixelmator and designed up a custom Gorgeous.Ink postcard that I sent off to VistaPrint to be printed.
VistaPrint has several sizes of postcards available and their "Oversize" postcard is nearly A5 sized but still falls within Canada Post's Lettermail guidelines for an 85¢ stamp. While it will be two weeks before I see the results; I'm excited by the prospect of having my own bespoke postcards for this year's letter writing campaign.
With my address list already compiled, custom stationery on the way, and a role of Star Trek stamps ready to go, I think I'm in good shape for this year's challenge.
